INDIANAPOLIS- Strategic Healthcare Group LLC was recently named an Indiana Company to Watch award winner. More than 500 companies were nominated, but only 50 of the highest performing companies received the distinction of being named one of the Indiana Companies to Watch of 2009. Most notably, Strategic Healthcare Group LLC was among a select group of only 5 companies providing services to the healthcare and medical service industries. On Thursday, August 27, 2009 the awardees were honored at a VIP Reception and Awards Dinner held at the Indiana Roof Ballroom in Indianapolis.
Indianapolis-based Strategic Healthcare Group has become one of the fastest growing businesses in the state by developing an innovative and unique approach to improving blood utilization within hospitals. As communities and hospitals face growing concerns about blood shortages and blood-related costs, more efficient and effective use of blood resources has become a national priority. Strategic Healthcare Group is the leading provider of blood management consulting and informatics solutions, partnering with the U.S. blood collection industry and a growing number of healthcare systems to improve blood management practices using their acclaimed Strategic Blood Management™ system.
Indiana Companies to Watch celebrates high-performing, second-stage companies in the state. Known for their performance in the marketplace, innovative products, unique processes or philanthropic actions, these companies represent a wide range of industries from all corners of Indiana. The companies selected each year show Indiana's diverse economic landscape. They make an astounding impact on the state's economy by collectively providing thousands of jobs and contributing millions of dollars of revenue. State officials have referred to these businesses as the foundation of Indiana’s economy.
“We are thrilled to be recognized as one of the state’s premier young companies,” said Timothy Hannon, MD, MBA, President and Founder of Strategic Healthcare Group. "We are based in Indianapolis but we currently serve nearly 100 hospitals and strategic partners across the nation. There is a growing demand for our blood management services because we help hospitals develop safe, efficient and effective blood utilization practices to improve the quality of patient care. At the same time, our services benefit local communities through better stewardship of the blood supply and lower healthcare costs."
The Strategic Blood Management™ system employs a suite of innovative tools including patent pending BloodStat™ utilization reports that increase the efficiency of blood bank operations and reduce unnecessary transfusions. Hospitals using the Strategic Blood Management™ system have achieved sustainable reductions in blood utilization from 13 % to 30% resulting in substantial savings of healthcare resources and millions of healthcare dollars.
