July 6, 2009

COMPANY NEWS - Strategic Healthcare Group, LLC, (SHG) will once again be prominently featured on the national level at the AABB 2009 Annual Meeting.  SHG, founded in 2005 and based in Indianapolis, has emerged as the nation’s leading provider of blood management consulting and informatics solutions.

The demand for SHG’s services continues to grow nationwide, and SHG has now partnered with over 100 hospitals and health systems across the United States.

The 2009 AABB Annual Meeting and TXPO, being held October 24-27 in New Orleans, is the blood industry’s leading association. The AABB has approximately 10,000 members comprised of professionals and clinicians from hospitals and blood banks, the majority of whom primarily focus on improving the quality and safety of blood products and transfusion practices.

SHG’s physician and nursing experts are frequent presenters at industry conferences and meetings. Timothy Hannon, MD, MBA, President of Strategic Healthcare Group LLC, and Joseph Thomas, RN, BSN, Vice President of Clinical Systems for Strategic Healthcare Group LLC, are scheduled to present five topics collectively on various blood management and transfusion safety themes.

Lecturing and presenting at the AABB Annual Meeting is very prestigious within the industry and will allow SHG to be prominently displayed among thousands of respected professionals in the transfusion medicine field. The lectures and presentations by Dr. Hannon and Mr. Thomas will follow on the heels of the Society for the Advancement of Blood Management Annual Meeting in September, where SHG is also featured.

"We are honored to be recognized among, and along with, the industry’s leaders," said Timothy Hannon, MD, MBA, President and Founder of Strategic Healthcare Group, LLC.  "We have become widely recognized because of our unique approach to blood management, which has enabled us to help hospitals develop safe, efficient and effective blood utilization practices that improve the quality of patient care. At the same time, our services benefit local communities through better stewardship of the blood supply and lower healthcare costs."

The lectures focus on best practices and the latest evidence related to blood management. The lectures and presentations include: “Blood Management and Transfusion Safety Workshop,” “Hospital Topic: Blood Management Systems,” “Resolving Compliance Issues at Transfusion Facilities,” “How a Large Academic Medical Center Decreased Its Dependency on Imported Blood,” and “Nursing Performance and Knowledge Gaps in Blood Management and Transfusion Safety.”

Strategic Healthcare Group, LLC (SHG) is the leading solutions provider of blood management consulting and informatics, partnering with the U.S. blood collection industry, hospitals, and health systems nationwide to improve blood management and utilization using their acclaimed Strategic Blood Management™ system.
