 Joseph Thomas is a registered nurse and currently serves as Vice President of Program Services for Strategic Healthcare Group LLC. Mr. Thomas has clinical experience in critical care nursing and blood management program development. While at the Cleveland Clinic Health System, he served as the Coordinator of the Center for Advanced Blood Management, and developed a nationally recognized program that resulted in a 60% reduction in surgical blood utilization. As the Director of Blood Management for the Western Region of the Cleveland Clinic Health System, he supported the development of 2 additional successful blood management programs. His strong interest in patient advocacy has shaped his unique focus on engaging nurses as a powerful driving force to optimize blood management practices and improve transfusion safety. Mr. Thomas is also a nationally recognized speaker and a published author on the topics of blood management and transfusion safety.
